Five more Christmas cards and a cake

I have to at least make 16 Christmas cards this year.  I have already finished 6 cards and now I have made 5. So I have only 5 more to go. Yay! I’m already seeing this projects finish line.

A few close-ups of this card since I was very pleased with the outcome of the coloring. Using Tim Holtz’s Disstress markers. Love them!

I’ve also got only about a week to my daughter’s birthday. I decided not to make a cheesecake this year though we are big fans of these cakes. I felt I needed a change so I decided to make a huge cupcake. 🙂 That actually means that it looks like a normal cake but the batter is cupcake batter and the frosting is the one we use fro cupcakes.

Of course, I could not just decide this but I also had to try this idea out before serving it to anyone. It turned out much better than I had expected. I used winter apples (caramelized in butter and sugar) and white chocolate in the middle and mixed cardamom spice in the batter. Apples and cardamom go so well together. The frosting was just basic frosting. Need to just make more next time so I can make it really fluffy!

So I’ll make this for the birthday and I’ll just have to decorate the cake then. You’ll have to come back soon to see what I come up with. 🙂

Kun katselee näitä kortteja, niin tekee mieli tehdä itse omat joulukortit ❤
