Once again birthdays came up and cards and presents were needed. The first birthday girl was my daughter’s cousin who turned 7. I decided not to get any so-called junk that they play with for a minute and then it is forgotten.
I found a lovely ceramic piggy bank in form of a mushroom from Tiger (great shop for nearly anyone. crafters can find treasure). I’m pretty sure that she did not find it interesting right away but hopefully she’ll get the saving part quickly and get excited about it. At least it was cute. 🙂
I only had a few minutes to create the card. I had a fun set of alphabet stamps. I just stamped the word I wanted, cut the letters out and stuck them on with 3mm double sided tape.
One of my good friend also had her birthday. Since we aren’t getting any younger and we all seem to have everything we need, I decided to go without a present and give only a handmade card. At this age I think it is more of the thought that counts.
I used washi tape in this card. Just taped them on a piece of cardstock and cut them out. Trimmed them to the length I wanted and voilà. The little hearts I loved. Unfortunately you can’t see it in this picture how they glitter. Just cut some hearts out using the Notched tag die from My Favorite Things and used glitter embossing powder. I would have liked to use some Glossy Accents on the stars but time ran out.
Our friend had also given birth to her second child and we also wanted to remember him in some way and welcome him into this world. So I wrapped up a cute little present for him.
I used the same die and stamp set as in the previous birthday card. Turning out to be one of my favorite sets currently. I love the very small dies and the variety of things you can use them on.
Well this is it for now. Got to run. Birthday cake’s in the oven.
