I was a bit hesitant when I first saw what the challenge was at the Less is More blog. Week 126 challenge was sand. Sand? Sand? That was all I could think of. Of course in these situations I had to take part since I love a good challenge.
I decided not to take the easy route and just use something that was the color of sand but I wanted to create sand without using the real thing. I think I managed to do just that!
Here is a close up of the “sand”. I first used my brownish colored Distress markers to get the base color. I dabbed some Versafine Toffee ink on top to get rid off the watercolor effect created by the markers. The last touch was to use some Distress embossing powder. This I think gave the 3D effect that I was looking for. I’m really pleased with the outcome.
